Dr. Amir Azeem is a board certified Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiologist who specializes in invasive and non-invasive management of heart rhythm disorders. He earned his medical degree from Dow Medical College, one of the most prestigious medical schools in Pakistan. After relocating to United States, Dr. Azeem completed his Internal Medicine residency at Michigan State University with honors and received a number of awards: Outstanding Senior Resident Award by Michigan State University Internal Medicine Residency Program, Outstanding Internal Medicine Senior Resident Award by the teaching faculty and staff of Sparrow Hospital System, and outstanding Teaching Resident Award by the graduating class of College of Human Medicine of Michigan State University. Dr. Azeem joined Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina as a faculty in Department of Internal Medicine where he was actively involved in various teaching activities with medical students and residents. He also earned a Master of Science degree in Clinical and Population Translational Science from Wake Forest University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Pursuing his passion for cardiovascular medicine, Dr. Azeem completed a Cardiovascular Disease fellowship at University of Mississippi Medical Center followed by an advanced fellowship in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology from Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology and has passed examination of Special Competence in Adult Echocardiography. Dr. Azeem participates in various professional organizations and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians as well as a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Azeem believes in providing high quality care in an effective and compassionate manner.
